Although he isbetter known for his melodious and hit songs of Hindi moviesin bollywood, he has also made his contribution to Bengal,a state whose language happens to be his mother tongue.Not only has he sung bengali film and non film songs(Adhunik),he has also given voice to some of the most well known Rabindrasangeet (Tagore songs).Toname a few, 'Akash Bhora Shurja tara', 'joditor Dak Shune keu Na Ashe tobe Ekla cholo re', 'AmarOndho prodeep' are some of the well known Tagore Songssung by him.
